This 1987 Jaguar XJ6 was first delivered to Piehler Pontiac of Rochester, New York and remained with the original owning family until 2005. It was acquired in 2020 by the seller from the second owner’s son following a period of storage, and it now shows 51k miles. Finished in Tungsten over blue leather, the car is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 15″ Kent vented alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a power-operated sunroof, dual fuel tanks, automatic climate control, a cassette stereo, and power windows, door locks, and mirrors. This Series III XJ6 is now offered with the owner’s manual, service records dating from new, a car cover, full-size spare wheel and tire jack, a clean Carfax report, and a New York title in the seller’s name.
The Pininfarina-styled bodywork is finished in Tungsten (JEX) with two-tone pinstriping. It features a gold-finished Leaper hood ornament, chrome grille, power antenna, bright trim, quad headlights, and power-adjustable side mirrors. In April 2025, the power-operated sunroof mechanism was replaced and the rear bumper was repaired and refinished. Paint touch-ups were performed in May 2026.
The 15″ Kent vented alloy wheels are accented with black inserts and gold-finished Jaguar center caps, and a full-size spare with a tire jack is located in the trunk. The Uniroyal Tiger Paw A/S tires were mounted in August 2021. Stopping power is provided by ventilated front and solid inboard rear discs. The sway bar links were replaced in September 2022, while the strut bushings were replaced in April 2025.
The cabin features blue leather-upholstered seats and headrests complemented by high-gloss burl wood accents adorning the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Amenities include an adjustable steering column, automatic climate control, a trip computer, cruise control, a factory AM/FM cassette stereo, dual ash trays, and power windows and side mirrors. The wiper, turn signal, and four-way switches were replaced in 2021.
The two-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as gauges for oil pressure, voltage, fuel level, and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 51k miles, approximately 10k of which were added under current ownership. The instrument cluster bulbs were replaced in May 2024, at which point the speedo cable was lubricated, and the steering column bushings were repaired.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory rated at 205 horsepower and 231 lb-ft of torque. In May 2024, the air conditioning system wiring was repaired and the hood insulation replaced. An oil line was repaired in April 2025. The exhaust was straightened and the air conditioning recharged in May 2026.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a BorgWarner three-speed automatic transmission. In April 2025, the transmission spool and mounter were replaced, the fluid was changed, and repairs were made to the underbody shielding.
A maintenance binder of records dating from new will accompany the car along with three sets of keys and the factory set of owner’s manuals.
