Lot #222693

This 1987 Jaguar XJ6 is said to have been purchased new by the seller’s uncle, and it was acquired by the seller in 2018. It is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and is finished in Jaguar Racing Green over Biscuit leather. Features include a Leaper hood ornament, a sunroof, fog lights, 15″ Kent vented alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, front bucket seats, automatic climate control, power windows, and a JVC CD stereo. Service under current ownership has included replacing the steering gear, rack and pinion, alternator belt, and rear tires. This Series III XJ6 is now offered at no reserve with the owner’s manual, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a Virginia title in the seller’s name.

The Pininfarina-styled bodywork is finished in Jaguar Racing Green (HEN) and features a Leaper hood ornament, a power sunroof, fog lights, power-adjustable side mirrors, bright trim, and dual exhaust outlets. The seller notes that the power antenna is slow to retract in cold weather.

The 15″ Kent vented alloy wheels are mounted with older Pirelli tires up front, and the Falken tires out back were mounted in December 2024. Braking is handled by ventilated front and solid inboard rear discs. The steering gear and rack and pinion were replaced in September 2018.

The seating surfaces are trimmed in Biscuit leather (ADE), while burl wood accents the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Interior equipment includes a JVC CD stereo, a trip computer, front bucket seats, automatic climate control, and power windows and locks. The seller notes that the air conditioning intermittently does not blow cold.

The two-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as gauges for oil pressure, voltage, fuel level, and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 77k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory rated at 205 horsepower and 231 lb-ft of torque. The alternator belt was replaced in May 2025. The hood insulation pad is torn.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a BorgWarner three-speed automatic transmission.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
