This outstanding original Jaguar XJ6, serial number 473725, is here on consignment from a friend of our dealership’s owner. She recently lost her father to old age and wants the car to go to a new home. Hence this super nice original XJ6 is for sale.

473725 is here at our facility in Sarasota, Florida. It has been inspected and is ready for the next owner.

Our seller’s father purchased 473725 brand new on February 28th, 1987 from Valley Jaguar in Salt Lake City, Utah. Our seller remembers the day her father brought the Jaguar home. They lived in Idaho Falls, Idaho and Valley Jaguar was the nearest Jaguar dealer ~ a 3-hour drive.

Faithfully the seller’s father drove 473725 to Valley Jaguar in Salt Lake City for its maintenance. Please see the photos of the Maintenance Service Record booklet’s Dealer Stamps.

We have all of the books (owner’s manual packet).

And…the original sales brochure that the seller’s father received the day he purchased the car.

And…a copy of the original window sticker.

And…three sets of factory keys with two sets that still have the original Valley Jaguar key FOBs.

And…some recent service records.

473725 was only driven in the summer in Idaho. The daughter tells us her father waited with massive anticipation each Spring to take 473725 out of the climate-controlled storage for drives during the summer.

473725 was transported via enclosed carrier down here to Sarasota, FL from Idaho Falls last week for us to sell. The daughter didn’t want to consign it with a classic car dealer up north because she wouldn’t trust anyone to not scratch the car.

Driving impressions and opinions:

I must say that most XJ6’s we have come through our operation lack the spectacular original condition and “low” miles of this car. Most XJ6’s we see nowadays are high-mile multiple-owner cars that look worn - not this one.

473725 has a fantastic soul to it, and a very dependable feel to it.

The car starts right up - no hesitation at all. Turn the key and instantly the engine is running. No need to pump the pedal or try twice, three times to keep it running. 473725 is very well tuned.

The engine sounds great - no valve ticking, no rattles, no exhaust leak noise.

The transmission shifts great - very smooth shifting.

The interior is super clean and is a non-smoker car.

The suspension feels very solid - no rattles even going over railroad tracks.

Absolutely no slop or play in the steering!

Excellent brakes - no pull to one side or the other when the brakes are applied.

The car has a very solid well-kept feel to it.

Superb paint - no faded spots, no scratches.

No dash cracks.

Full set of owner’s manual comes with the car.

Service records (see photos).

3 sets of original keys.

Overall this is a very impressive XJ6 that’s never fallen into the wrong hands. It is a true 1-owner, not dealer inventory or not a car a flipper found with an open title calling it a 1-owner.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
