Auction description:
Lot number 34
Hammer value £3,000
Description Jaguar XJC 4.2 Coupe
Registration PMB 235B
Year 1975
Colour Silver
Engine size 4,235 cc
Chassis No. 2J1303BW
Engine No. 8L19538S

Dating from August 1975, this particular Jaguar is definitely one of the good ones and looks most attractive in silver with a navy hide interior. Originally registered as LDV 561P, it was re-registered in 1990 as PMB 235B, the number it wears to this day. Looking to be very sound and straight throughout, it is also said to drive well and certainly fired up readily and ran very smoothly on the occasion of our visit to take these pictures. It has recently been treated to a full brake overhaul, new rear shock absorbers and a new headlining.

The 61,100 miles on the clock is believed to be genuine and is partially backed up by a long run of old MOTs from 1979 to 1998. It also still retains its original Passport To Service book which is fully stamped up from new until 1978 at 15,590 miles. Due to have a fresh MOT before the sale, it looks excellent value at the guide price suggested today.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
